Since then, we have helped the City of San Jose with the preservation and development of Emma Prusch Memorial Park, in accordance with the terms of her Gift Deed, giving the total property to the people of the City of San Jose.
The original 86 acre former dairy farm, was bi-sected by Highway 280/680 when In 1968, Miss Prusch dedicated the acreage north of the highways to the Police Activities League for youth programs. The gasoline service station on the corner of King and Story roads provides funding for various programs and projects including maintenance and capitol improvements at the Park.
The remaining 46 acres are preserved by the City to "make said park a place of relaxation, recreation and enjoyment for the people of the City of San Jose, and in such a manner as will, to extent that such can be done, give to said park a rural country character and atmosphere".
Everyone is welcome here!
The Prusch Farm Park Foundation's mission is to help keep Emma Prusch's vision of creating and maintaining a rural country atmosphere alive in the city of San Jose, CA.
